Trainer Cups

A Whirlwind of a Wednesday

Today is literally the windiest day I think we have had since moving to Kansas City and one of my busiest ones too. Before I get too far into today’s happenings, I am going to rewind to last night.

I am sure that most of you know what Jamberry Nails are, but if not, check out their website here. I have never used their products before, but was invited to a party on Facebook. Normally I just ignore those types of party requests, but something about this one caught my attention. Last night we played a game where the hostess would post a graphic with five objects listed. After she submitted the graphic, those of us participating ran around our homes gathering the five objects, take a photo of them all and submit it before anyone else. It was so much fun and such an unexpected way to get in a little cardio! Here is an idea of what I was running around pulling together:

Our party is still going on and I have already managed to win accent nails and a half sheet of nails without spending any money. I count that as a WIN in my book.

This morning I woke up after Mat put Camden in bed with me. He was up earlier than usual so Mat gave him a shower. After he was clean, I took him downstairs to eat some breakfast. If you have a little one that is picky with baby cereal try the kind with fruit. Camden likes the added sweetness. I think the other was just too bland for his palate.

Lately, nap time is go time around here. Wednesdays are my day to clean bedrooms and after I scarfed down a couple pumpkin muffin cookies, I ran upstairs to get to work. Camden must have had different plans because he decided to nap less than he usually does which meant I had an extra helper. I literally left the room for 30 seconds and came back to find him using my jewelry box to see his reflection and as a support to stand.

A little later I realized that he really needed to nap longer (he was majorly cranky) so I took advantage of the quiet time and finished my current book The Girl on the Train. Once books get to about the last 50 pages I tend to read every second I get…this one was intense! I will try to type up a book review soon to post sometime next week!

The next book on my radar, which I may or may not have started today, is The Best Yes by Lysa Terkeurst. If you haven’t read anything by her I highly recommend doing so. I discovered her through Proverbs 31 Ministries and am so excited to hear her speak in person next weekend! I posted this image to my Instagram earlier after the included quote really resonated with me:

After lunch today, I made a trip to Babies-R-Us for a few things we needed. The baby gate that we were using had to be removed every time we wanted get up the stairs easily and we needed a better more stable option. Our banister made the process a little difficult, but I was able to find a gate that did just the trick. You can see the one we were using set off to the side in the photo. When I get a chance, it will be installed at the top of the stairs.

If you are interested, this is a pressure mounted gate (no screws required) and it is made by Dreambaby. It was easy to install and has extension kits available if you have a wider opening. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but an option that worked with our banister that didn’t have to be removed multiple times a day was worth it. If you have stairs and don’t want holes in your walls, consider this option! Get all the details here.

While we were there, I also picked up a couple new training cups for Cam and a snack bowl. I really like the Tommee Tippee brand of training cups and they come in such cute colors and prints. We already have their training sippy cups and since Cam is always trying to drink out of our glasses or straws, I thought these two would be great to add to our collection. As far as the Playtex Snacker, our current snack cups don’t hold enough and I know that he will grow to use them himself so they work now and will in the future too! Does anyone have any good recommendations out there for cups or snack bowls besides these? What about for future use?

Once we have more of a chance to use them, I will be sure to give you my full review! For now here are links to where you can find each one:

When I started this post, the little guy was napping, but since then, he managed to wake up, play in the exersaucer, play on the floor, knock things over, bump his head and now he is hanging out behind me in his highchair eating cheerios. It is so true that the more mobile little ones become, the more busy you find yourself. I know walking will bring all kinds of challenges, but I can’t wait for him to take his first steps. We are SO close!

I hope you all have a great evening! Mat is on his way home and we have church tonight so our evening is pretty full. Needless to say, I have been drinking an energy drink (It Works ENERGY!!!) over the last hour or so and praying it gets me through all I still have on my agenda. Have a good one!
