10 Month Update

10 Month Update

Last night I was exhausted after a long day and crazy workout so I thought I would write this post up during Camden’s morning nap today. It is now just after 3:00 a.m. and I am wide awake thanks to storms that make my dog wine incessantly. I do not like him very much at this point. Tonight even Camden is sleeping better than I am.

While we are on the subject of sleep, the little guy still hasn’t figured out sleeping through the night. I think there was one night last week where Mat and I got a full nights rest without him waking, but most nights we are up at least twice. As far as naps, he usually takes two each day and sometimes will go down for a short one in the evening.

Last month, Camden had a ton of developments, and while we continue to see him grow and learn how to do new things, it isn’t at the rate we saw last month.

Cam is pulling up on everything now. He had been doing this previously, but now does so with much more ease. He also walks along just about everything and will reach to get from one object to another. Last month, when he wanted to sit down from standing he would cry, afraid to fall. Now, he just plops down and keeps moving. He is getting so fast at crawling and transitions from being down on all fours on the carpet, to pulling one foot forward to protect his knees on the hardwood.

Discipline has become a regular thing and soon, he will probably think his name is NO. Most things that I don’t want him to touch are put away, but I have a antique piece of furniture and a couple of other items I refuse to banish to the basement. Instead, when he ventures into a room where these items are located, I keep an eye on him making sure he doesn’t mess with them. Camden likes to try his boundaries and often does what he is told not to. I can only imagine how much crazier this will soon get.

Playtime has become much more interactive for the little guy and I can see the wheels turning in his head. He doesn’t just take a toy and shake it a few times before discarding it, but he moves it around and really studies it. I find this so much fun to watch.

Camden still has 6 teeth, but has more on the way. He has been teething pretty hard now for about two weeks, but I have no idea where the new ones are coming in at. All the teeth have made eating much easier for him. He still prefers to eat off our plates rather than his own, but I still keep a little baby food around for times when we are eating something he really shouldn’t have. While Mat and I love our spicy food, I have tried to keep from feeding Camden any, worried that it will burn his mouth. When I was nursing I had to stay away from it because it definitely didn’t sit well with him.

One last thing before I close this post out, communication. I have been using baby sign language with Camden for months now, but he still has not started signing to me. This is something I was so excited about when we first began, but I find it a little discouraging that he won’t or hasn’t signed back. When I sign to eat he does seem to understand, but just won’t tell me on his own without cries. He is definitely more verbal all the time and still says da da almost non stop, ma ma when he is in distress and dog whenever Ty is around and we prompt him.

Well, there you have it! 10 months down and just two to go before we hit a year. I really need to start planning birthday celebration fun.

I hope you guys have a great day! I am hoping to get back upstairs to bed so that I don’t feel like a complete zombie today. I have a feeling I will be downing an energy drink pretty early on. Thankfully, my family is coming down to to visit for the day so I will have some help from them. Ciao!
