Complete Fitness @ Home: W1W2

Today I am going to start out with a little motivation for all of you who are tackling the fitness series with me. If you are just here for the workout, scroll on down!

MOTIVATION

Today’s workout was a tough one for me. One thing I miss about Crossfit is the atmosphere and the way people would motivate you and encourage you to keep going and push a little bit harder. When you really want to stop, it can push you to keep going. I did complete the entire workout today even though I doubted myself a few times and I hope you will remember that you too can finish it when you feel like you can’t do any more.

Sometimes when I need a little added motivation, I visit one of my favorite pinterest boards that I entitled ‘Self Betterment‘ a couple years ago. Until today, I had it listed as a secret board, but I just made it public and I invite you to use the quotes you find listed there as added motivation. Just click on the board name above. I have some workouts posted there too, but I mainly use this board for motivation when I feel like I can’t do a workout or I don’t want to eat right.

Another thing before I get to the workout, I decided one of the biggest motivating factors is having my son there watching me while I complete these workouts. When I completed today’s workout, I did so with him in his swing like I had done previously. He tends to giggle a lot when I first start, but even when his giggles stop, he still watches me. I tend to talk to him while I workout and multiple times I told him that I was “doing this for him” and kept telling myself that he was watching me. It reminded me of this video that I shared on Facebook awhile back. Even watching it again I get goosebumps.

I know there are quite a few mommas out there that are on this journey right along with me. Watch this and let it be your motivation to be strong through today’s workout. I KNOW you can do it!

WORKOUT

Week 1 Workout 2

When I made the above graphic I forgot to add in that you can complete the 5 burpees for a little harder workout, OR complete 20 mountain climbers in their place. You will see in Friday’s workout that I have both levels included in the graphic.

As I mentioned before, I found this workout to be rather challenging. I chose to complete the five burpees instead of the mountain climbers. Looking at the stats that my Fitbit Charge HR pulled, the workout took me 17:21 minutes, my average heart rate was 117 and I burned approximately 112 calories!

Like I mentioned Monday, if you need to modify your push ups, please do so. Another thing, even if you can’t complete all five rounds, do what you can and push yourself as hard as you can. Something is always better than nothing.
