Good morning friends! I had hoped to have this post up yesterday, but wordpress was being weird the other night and wouldn’t let me pull any of my drafts. I finally gave up, but now that it’s working, here we go!
On Friday last week, I took Camden in for his 9 month check-up. When I scheduled the appointment months ago, I didn’t think there would be any issues with an 8:30 a.m. visit, but now, that is morning nap time. Even without a nap, the little guy was a trooper and only got fussy a few times.
On a side note, you might notice that this visit fell almost two weeks after Cam turned 9 months. When we moved to the city, we had trouble finding an office I felt comfortable with. By the time I settled on a clinic, the only openings were after he hit his major months.
After a short time in the waiting room, we went back to get all of Camden’s regular measurements. Everyone always says that Camden is a big boy so I was excited to see how he compared to others that are his age.
Here are Camden’s stats:
- Weight: 20 lbs. 7 oz. (70%)
- Length: 29 in. (75%)
- Head Circumference: 18.5 in. (95%)
As you can see, our
little big guy is above average…especially when it comes to head circumference. This honestly doesn’t surprise me. I have a big head and I think Mat does too. At least it doesn’t look too large for his body (to me at least ;)).
The Nurse Practitioner said that he is hitting all his milestones and that we need to keep up what we are doing. She did have a few pointers to help in some areas:
- Since Camden still isn’t sleeping through the night, she suggested trying a night light. Has anyone had luck with this? (Since I drafted this post, we dried the nightlight and I just felt like it was keeping him awake so I stopped using it.)
- Now that we have six teeth, I guess it is time to pull out the gummy toothbrush I put in his Easter basket. She said we can rinse them off between brushings as well.
I also let them give Cam a flu shot while we were there. I said no at first, but after chatting about what the flu might be like this year, I said yes. He took the shot well and didn’t cry long at all. Now, we just have to go back for a booster in four weeks.
Our next visit will be the ONE YEAR CHECKUP!!! This guy is growing up too fast so I must enjoy each moment I have with him.
Have a great weekend!
